Who We Are

We are a team of highly qualified engineers registered with NICEIC, BAFE and GASSAFE. We specialise in commercial electrical installations, fire detection systems, HVAC, plumbing and renewable energy solutions. Our diverse client base includes local businesses and sectors like the NHS, MOD, and educational authorities, where safety and compliance are essential. Proudly serving Newcastle, Darlington, Middlesbrough, York and surrounding areas, we are recognised for our fast, responsive and cost-effective service.

Our Project Management Team

Our Project Management Team turns engineering work into clear, controlled delivery. From surveys and compliance planning through to handover and aftercare, we coordinate people, programmes, and site requirements to keep projects safe, organised, and on time, with minimal disruption to your day-to-day operations.

Martin Poulter

Managing Director

Martin purchased EIT as a going concern in 2022. With over 40 years in engineering, and 35 years in project management Martin brings a wealth of experience to the company.

Martin is adamant that the main focus is to continue to provide an excellent service, whilst maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety for EIT customers.

Martin states:

“My aim is to modernise, expand and grow the company to secure its future going forward ensuring that the team are also looked after. I am particularly proud of the apprentice scheme introduced since my arrival which has two in their final stages and two more in the early stages of development.”

Vince Peel

Operations & Contracts Director at Engineering Installations

With over 35 years at EIT, Vince is a highly driven multidisciplined individual, with extensive experience in management. Vince’s main focus is on providing an excellent service as well as maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety for our customers, whilst building strong relationships with clients.

Vince is our safety focal point and is qualified in the requirements to be able to provide high quality health & safety in commercial Engineering projects. Over the years Vince’s work has enabled him to develop strong skills in Project Planning, staff training & business development.

Vince has the experience to deal with all aspects of projects and work at EIT and has active involvement with all of our teams.

John Lee

Mechanical, Gas Services & Plumbing Manager

With over 40 years at EIT, John is a very experienced commercial heating and plumbing engineer. John is focused on providing an excellent service with high standards of Health & Safety for our customers, whilst building relationships with clients.

John has a wealth of experience with mechanical, commercial gas and plumbing systems and along with his team provides an excellent service to our customers.

Nick Rafferty

Electrical Services and Business Development Manager

With over 24 years at EIT, Nick is a highly driven and focused individual, with extensive experience in commercial electrical systems.

Nick focuses on providing an excellent service with high standards of Health & Safety for all our customers, whilst building excellent relationships with clients.

They prioritised the installation of the main heating system… to meet the tight deadline. Their professionalism and commitment to delivering on time has been greatly appreciated. I am also aware that the electrician stayed very late on the Friday prior to the event to ensure the system was completed and operational in time, which reflects the dedication shown by the whole team.
